Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Thank you for using Bloxie. Protecting your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and which rights you have regarding your personal information. Bloxie is designed to help individuals, teams and organizations collaborate asynchronously by creating Workspaces, Projects, Threads, Polls, Appointment Polls, Approvals and Reviews. Whenever you use Bloxie, you trust us with certain information, and we are committed to handling that information responsibly, transparently and securely. By using the Services you acknowledge that your information will be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Data Controller
Unless otherwise stated, the data controller responsible for processing personal information under this Privacy Policy is Codemize, operated by Marc Stöckli, Feldstrasse 31G, 5442 Fislisbach, Switzerland. You can reach us via our website at https://bloxie.ch or by email at support@bloxie.ch.
3. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Bloxie mobile application, the Bloxie website, publicly shared poll pages, all related online services, and future services operated under the Bloxie brand unless a separate Privacy Policy applies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services operated independently from Bloxie, and where links to third-party websites are provided, those websites remain subject to their own privacy policies.
4. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.
4.1 Account Information
When creating an account through a supported Authentication Provider, we may receive information including your name, email address, profile picture, preferred language and the authentication identifier necessary for sign-in. We do not receive or store your authentication password, since authentication is performed by the selected Authentication Provider.
4.2 Profile Information
You may choose to provide additional profile information such as a display name, a profile image, personal preferences and notification settings. Providing optional profile information is voluntary.
4.3 Workspace Information
When using Bloxie we process information relating to your Workspaces, including the Workspace name, its Members, their Roles, invitations, permissions and Workspace settings.
4.4 Projects and Threads
Within a Workspace you may create collaborative content including Projects, Threads, Discussions, Polls, Appointment Polls, Approvals, Reviews, Comments, Attachments, uploaded documents and uploaded images. This information is processed solely for providing the requested functionality of the Services.
4.5 Voting Information
When participating in Polls or Appointment Polls we process submitted votes, participation status, voting timestamps and selected options. If a Poll is configured as anonymous, the visibility of your identity is limited according to the selected poll settings.
4.6 Purchases
If you purchase a Subscription or Blox Credits, purchase information is processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Bloxie does not receive your complete payment card information. We may receive information necessary to verify purchases, including transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchased products, renewal information and purchase timestamps.
4.7 Support Requests
When contacting us, we process the information you choose to provide, including your email address, your message, attachments and correspondence relating to your request. Support requests are used exclusively for handling your inquiry and improving customer support.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only where necessary to operate, maintain and improve the Services. Depending on how you use Bloxie, we may process your information to provide access to your Account, authenticate your identity, create and manage Workspaces, create and manage Projects and Threads, process Polls, Appointment Polls, Approvals and Reviews, display collaborative content to authorized Members, synchronize data across your devices, deliver notifications and reminders, process Subscriptions and Blox Credits, respond to support requests, detect, prevent and investigate abuse, fraud and security incidents, comply with legal obligations, and improve the stability, security and reliability of the Services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your Content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
6. Authentication
Authentication is provided through trusted third-party identity providers. At the time of writing, Bloxie supports Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google, and authentication is handled through Clerk. When you sign in, Clerk may process authentication-related information required to establish and maintain a secure session. Bloxie does not receive or store your password. Please refer to Clerk's Privacy Policy for additional information regarding authentication-related processing.
7. Workspaces and Collaboration
Bloxie is designed as a collaborative platform. Information that you create within a Workspace is generally visible to other Members of the same Workspace according to their assigned permissions. Depending on your permissions, Members may be able to create Projects, create Threads, upload documents, upload images, participate in Polls, participate in Appointment Polls, participate in Approvals, participate in Reviews and write Comments. Workspace Owners and Administrators may manage Members, invitations, permissions and collaborative content. When you leave a Workspace, your previously created collaborative Content may remain available to preserve the integrity of discussions, projects and historical decisions unless deletion is legally required or technically requested. Votes submitted by a deleted User are removed according to the current implementation of the Services.
8. Uploaded Content
Bloxie allows Users to upload documents and images. Uploaded Content remains the property of its respective owner. By uploading Content, you grant Codemize a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license solely for the purpose of storing the Content, processing the Content, displaying the Content to authorized Users, creating encrypted backups, transmitting the Content through the Services, and making the Content available through Public Links when explicitly enabled by the Workspace. This license ends when the Content is permanently deleted from the Services, except where retention is required by law or temporary backup systems. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded Content.
9. Notifications
Bloxie may send notifications relating to your use of the Services, including Workspace invitations, Project updates, new Comments, Poll invitations, Appointment Poll reminders, Approval requests, Review requests, mentions, Subscription information, billing information, service announcements and security notifications. Notifications may be delivered within the application, by email, or by push notification, and push notifications are delivered using the Expo Push Notification Service and the respective platform notification services operated by Apple and, where supported, Google. You may disable push notifications through your device settings, although certain service-related notifications, such as security notifications or important account information, may continue to be sent where necessary for the operation or security of the Services.
10. Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscriptions and Blox Credits are currently available through Apple's App Store, and purchase transactions are processed by Apple. Subscription verification and purchase management are provided through RevenueCat. Bloxie does not collect or store your payment card details; we receive only the information necessary to verify your purchase, activate your Subscription, activate purchased Blox Credits, determine your subscription status, prevent fraudulent transactions, and comply with accounting and legal obligations. Refunds for purchases made through Apple's App Store are governed by Apple's policies and procedures. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, Bloxie may revoke the associated Subscription or purchased Blox Credits in accordance with the applicable Terms.
11. Third-Party Services
To provide the Services, Bloxie relies on carefully selected third-party providers, which process information on our behalf or as independent controllers where applicable. At the time of writing, Bloxie uses Clerk for user authentication, Convex as the application backend and database, AWS S3 (via Convex) for file storage, RevenueCat for subscription and purchase verification, Apple App Store for in-app purchases, Resend for transactional emails, Expo for push notifications, Sentry for error reporting and diagnostics, and Netlify for website hosting. These providers process only the information necessary to perform their respective services, and Bloxie periodically reviews its service providers to ensure appropriate security and privacy standards. An up-to-date list of subprocessors is available in the separate Subprocessors document.
12. International Data Transfers
Because Bloxie is available internationally, your information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence. Our infrastructure currently includes services hosted in the United States, including Convex deployments located in AWS US East (Northern Virginia). Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable privacy laws, and where required, transfers are based on recognized legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms implemented by our service providers.
13. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Unless a longer retention period is required by law, account information is retained until account deletion, Workspace data until Workspace deletion, Projects and Threads until deleted by the Workspace, Comments until deleted or Workspace deletion, uploaded files until deleted or Workspace deletion, purchase records as required by applicable accounting and tax laws, support requests as reasonably necessary to provide support, and error reports for a limited period for troubleshooting purposes. Following deletion, certain information may remain temporarily stored in encrypted backups before being permanently removed according to our backup retention policies.
14. Security
Protecting your information is an important part of operating Bloxie. We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, including, where appropriate, encrypted communication using HTTPS, secure authentication, access control mechanisms, infrastructure security provided by our hosting providers, regular software updates, and monitoring for operational issues and security incidents. Although we strive to protect your information, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping access to your Account secure and for protecting the devices you use to access the Services.
15. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to your personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, request restriction of processing, request data portability where applicable, object to certain processing activities, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also delete your Bloxie Account at any time through the application. For requests that cannot currently be completed within the application, please contact support@bloxie.ch. We may request reasonable verification of your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
16. Children's Privacy
Bloxie is not specifically intended for children. Users must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws applicable in their country of residence or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe that personal information has been provided by a child inappropriately, please contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, remove the information.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, we will update the Last Updated date shown at the top of this document, and where required by law, we will also provide additional notice through the Services or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by law.
